  • How to get to Diana Beach Resort
Three countries offer direct flights to Tongatapu, the main island of the Kingdom of Tonga: Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand. From Tongatapu, you can either take a flight to Lifuka, the neighboring island of Uoleva, where Diana Beach Resort is located, with flights available daily from Monday to Saturday through Lulutai Airline. For a more adventurous and budget-friendly option, you can catch a ferry from Tongatapu to Lifuka usually leaving on Tuesday and Wednesday. The ferry journey takes approximately 20 hours and offers the chance to see some of the remote islands along the way. Regardless of your choice, we can arrange to pick you up from Lifuka and bring you to our resort. • Water
The resort provides fresh water pumped from the ground for general use. Rainwater is collected separately and used as drinking water. Bottled water is available for purchase on Lifuka Island.
  • "Island Time"
“Island Time” is a relaxed and easygoing way of life that reflects the slower pace and laid-back attitude commonly found in island cultures. In Tonga, this means that things may not always run according to a strict schedule, and delays can occur. When planning your trip, please be aware that this can affect flights and other services. We recommend allowing extra time between connecting flights and planning for potential changes or delays. It’s always a good idea to have a flexible schedule and keep an eye on flight updates to ensure a smooth travel experience.
  • Internet
Currently, the resort does not offer Wi-Fi, but there is good internet coverage with a local Digicel SIM card that you can purchase at the airport on Tongatapu.
  • Electricity
Electricity is generated from solar energy and is available in the shared facilities. Soon, also every Fale will have an own power supply.
  • Weather
Most visitors come between July and September, which is Tongan winter. During this time, temperatures are more moderate compared to summer. Daytime temperatures typically range from 24-28°C, with plenty of sunny days. At night, temperatures cool down to 20-22°C, making for comfortable sleeping conditions. Water temperatures generally range from 23-25°C.
  • Whale tours
While we cannot guarantee whale encounters, every tour so far has included whale sightings, with nearly all tours offering close encounters in the water.
  • Food
We can provide breakfast and dinner for an additional charge. Alternatively, you can purchase groceries on Lifuka Island and use the shared kitchen to prepare your meals.
  • What to bring?
Here are some must-haves for a comfortable and enjoyable stay: Hat Sunglasses Sunscreen Power bank/spare battery (solar energy may be scarce) Swim wear Mask and fins for snorkeling Water bottle (rainwater is provided but needs to be bottled) Pack these essentials to ensure you make the most of your island getaway!
  • Tongan Sunday - Rest Day
In Tonga, Sunday is a day of rest and worship, so no work is done, and all shops, airports, and services are closed. You won't be able to travel or shop on Sundays, so plan your activities and shopping for other days of the week. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and you may also choose to participate in local worship services.
  • Deposit and Cancellation Policy
A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
